About the Author
In school, teachers (and parents) try to force you to read, and I hated it! However, I can vividly remember the first time I read a book that changed my world. In sixth grade, "The Giver," by Lois Lowry, opened up my world to how reading words on a page can cause stories to play out in your head like a movie.
Soon after, I remember writing short stories and my family being very supportive of me. I had the idea in seventh grade to become an author, but not many people talk about this as an attainable or even desirable goal. So, I put it on the back burner through high school, dabbled here and there in college, but it wasn't until I graduated that I really began to take my writing seriously and want to share my stories with the world.
Born and raised in northern Louisiana, I met my husband at college. We lived in Houston for a year (that's when I published my first book), and we're currently living in south Louisiana with our dog and cat.

It took me six years to write my debut novel, Even So. I started writing it in high school, but didn't publish it until after I got married. Sometimes I regret taking so long to write books, but then I remember that all the greatest writers took years with their books too. Truth be told, life is hectic, and having a full-time job makes it impossible to write as much as I want to. My goal in life is to write as much as I can, sell as many books as possible, until I can follow my dream of becoming a full-time author.
